The Human Adventure is a podcast about movement, meaning, and connection. From runners and gymnasts to sailors, creators, and explorers, each guest shares the moments that pushed them beyond comfort and into growth. These stories remind us that human connection is what fuels courage, deepens understanding, and turns ordinary lives into extraordinary journeys.

About the Host

Jake Bushman is the host of The Human Adventure, a podcast born from curiosity, conversation, and the courage to grow. While Jake has always been drawn to adventurous people and meaningful stories, he didn’t always see himself as “adventurous.” Through weekly conversations with runners, explorers, creators, and everyday people, he began stepping beyond his comfort zone—discovering that adventure isn’t about extremes, but about showing up, trying, and choosing growth.

What Jake values most are the memories made, the lessons learned, and the realization that challenges don’t disqualify us from living fully—they prepare us for it.

Outside the podcast, Jake is a devoted family man. He and his wife Shawna have raised four children (three sons and one daughter), welcomed two daughters-in-law, and are now proud grandparents to two granddaughters. Family adventures—whether traveling, exploring new places, or simply being together—are at the heart of Jake’s life. He also finds clarity on his morning runs, using movement as a way to reset, reflect, and start each day with intention.
